the reazon they cancelled Hanazuki was because they were trying to write episodes about how Kiyoshi is so in love with me and the higher-ups thought it was weird for these people to be writing about a character in the show beind super in love with some random ass real life person with zero real-world accomplishments or media presence and it unnerved them so much they just cancelled the show without any announcement
