i wonder how design went from realistic skeumorphism to insanely flat design that look so boring. obv when we look back at it, it feels less boring than at the time where we took it kinda for granted? i wonder if i can manage to make my own theme for kde plasma. i want to check out the svgs and see if i can recreate the feeling

my first personal computer was a raspberry pi 3, and when i first got i knew, i knew right away that it was gonna be as good as windows, and the looks felt very bootleg-y, like a cheap copy of windows. a few years later and i'm on linux again, trying to recreate that same feeling with a chinese slightly cheesy-lookin wallpaper and searching for icons and window styles like these. nowadays, i find it deeply charming.
